Applications for the second round of Daniel Pearl Fellowships will be available online in June 2004.  This fellowship was established in partnership with the Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships as an opportunity for promising, mid-career foreign journalists to work for six months in a U.S. newsroom Danny knew. This year we are expanding the program to two Daniel Pearl Fellows from South Asia, the Middle East, or North Africa. Each fellow will work from March – September 2005 in a U.S. newsroom. Applications are due in September 2004. Please visit the  Alfred Friendly Press Fellowships for more information.

Daniel Pearl Dialogue for Muslim-Jewish Understanding – to Britain's House of Lords in June 2004
The Daniel Pearl Dialogue for Muslim-Jewish Understanding was devised by Professors Akbar Ahmed and Judea Pearl out of a shared concern about the deterioration of relationships between the Muslim and the Jewish communities and a shared belief that reconciliation of these two Abrahamic faiths is critical and can only be achieved through the re-establishment of respectful dialogue.

Three highly engaging public dialogue meetings have been held to-date, the most recent was the “Daniel Pearl Dialogue of Acknowledgement and Reconciliation” in Williamsburg, VA on April 18, 2004. Dr. Ahmed and Dr. Pearl will be bringing their Dialogue to London June 21-25, 2004 in recognition of the importance of the Muslim and Jewish communities in Britain. The London Daniel Pearl Dialogue will be launched at the House of Lords and continue at a public program at the University of London's SOAS Brunei Gallery. 10 Seeds of Peace Grads Selected for Daniel Pearl Media Internships
The Daniel Pearl Media Internship Program at Seeds of Peace has selected 5 Israeli and 5 Palestinian young adults for intensive, full-time, two-month internships at professional media organizations in the Middle East. Each intern is a graduate of Seeds of Peace who has expressed an interest in journalism. The internship program encourages these young people to spread and amplify their commitment to peaceful co-existence and non-violence by choosing a career in journalism.
